Gettin a little colorful

It makes me so happy that I have time to blog today. I think it’s something that only “bloggers” would understand. Moving on!

Since I’m on Spring Break I’ve had time to cook myself breakfast in the morning. You know what that means? Protein pancakes! Yummmm!

Today and Monday I’ve used a protein pancakes recipe from Carrots N Cake. I always put peanut butter on my pancakes. That’s the best way to eat them.

DSC_0482DSC_0490I’m getting hungry posting pictures of those haha good thing my mom is cooking supper! The quality on the bottom picture is kinda poor sorry.

DSC_0493Then after I finished my pancakes today I was still kind of hungry, so I decided to have a glass of chocolate milk. I used to have chocolate milk all the time, but now if I do drink anything aside from water it’s coffee with creamer.

So today for my workout I did this cardio kickboxing video from Youtube. It was cardio, kickboxing with some strength training too. It was pretty hard, but I really enjoyed doing it. So if you’re ever looking for an at home cardio workout this is a good one.

DSC_0485This is a picture after my workout from Monday. I did a mashup of leg and arm videos from Youtube that lasted around 35 minutes.

Now on to more exciting and colorful things! This weekend after our little Color Run in Lubbock we went shopping. I did not buy anything that was black…well except for some VS underwear but those don’t really count. Anyways, look at all these colorful clothes. I know I’m gettin’ a little crazy.

DSC_0495Really the only nice piece of clothing I got were a pair of mint shorts from Target. I needed a new every day jacket and my mom told me she wouldn’t buy me anything grey or black, so I went with this washed out red jacket.

I already have wayyy too many t-shirts, but I added a few more to my collection. I got a cute Texas Tech t-shirt that’s a washed out turquoise with bright pink wording. The ZTA t-shirt and shorts are the items that I am most excited about.

DSC_0501I am obsessed with these shorts! They didn’t have any smalls so I had to go with a medium which is a little big for me, but I didn’t care! These Texas star shorts are really big in Texas (go figure). At the summer camp I work at all the little girls have them and I’ve been wanting a pair for a long time! A pair of Texas star shorts with Zeta on them is the perfect combination.

DSC_0503I’ve also made an observation that a big trend with the Southern sororities are to wear big oversized t-shirts that are of washed out colors. I don’t know how to explain it really. They only had larges and up in this shirt, but I loved it so I got it anyway. With Greek Week starting next week and continuing for 3 weeks, comfort is a must. I will be living in shorts and t-shirts, so this one will be extra comfy.

DSC_0507I also got some new lotion from Victoria’s Secret and it’s called Sunkissed. It honestly smells like summer. I’m not sure how to explain it, so go smell it for yourself!

Well my Mom almost has supper ready so here’s a good read that y’all should check out from Running With Spoons:

Is your wardrobe very colorful?

March Goals

tumblr_mj9lgd6WDm1qlmwooo1_500

March has arrived and I’m almost a week behind on making my goals for March! I really need to get on top of it. I’ll try to keep them short and sweet.

  • Go to Fit Camp on Tuesday and Thursday mornings through March. That means I have to make it tomorrow and for two more weeks before spring break.
  • Start running more outside instead of on the treadmill. It’s starting to warm up here and outside running simply tops treadmill running.
  • 1 day of week, Friday or Saturday, do something new or fun for my workout. That can be yoga, hiking, going on a long run, or trying a new class.
  • Eat my greens at least once a day! Thank goodness the chef at Zeta always makes a salad bar. This week I’ve had salad with sides every day for lunch.
  • Try to cook more and eat out less.
  • Only two more weeks after this one until spring break! I need to turn on “Beast Mode” for my schoolwork. Blah.
  • Take more pictures of my everyday life and post my photos from my documentary class.
  • Find, steal, kidnap, do whatever it takes to get a puppy like this:

Actually I probably won’t do that, but it’s a nice idea! What are your goals for March?

Completion of Best Body Bootcamp

Happy Monday! I hope you’ve survived it!

Is Best Body Bootcamp really over? It seriously flew by! I absolutely loved Tina’s program! Here are a few reasons I loved it and some of the results I noticed  from bootcamp. Beware of some selfies in this post like the one below, but hey I guess you need a face or body to put with the name!

end bbb 1

  • I loved having a set program. I didn’t get up wondering what work out I was doing for the day. No searching Pinterest and Youtube, except for a few running workouts.
  • It got me into the weight room and helped build my confidence in the weight room.
  • Got into a workout routine. Basically I gave myself an hour, unless I needed to be quick, to do my workouts. Also, reinforced my routine of waking up early. 6 a.m.
  • Like working out does in general, the workouts filled me with energy, gave me satisfaction, and truly challenged me.
  • Motivated me to really try to eat healthier and I’ve gotten better at making healthier choices.
  • I can run faster and for longer intervals. For example a treadmill interval workout that I usually run at 6.0 mph I was running at 7 mph today because 6 was too slow. So definitely an improvement in conditioning and endurance.
  • Here are my fit test results. I was pleased with them: bbb fit test results
  • Not evident to anyone who looks at me but I can notice more definition in my arms and an increase in arm strength.
  • Here’s a few pictures. Excuse the messy rooms in the background please:DSC01446end bbb arm 1By the way I think it’s extremely awkward to try to “flex” my arm, but I’m posting a picture anyway.
  • My abs feel stronger and tighter. They may not show that they’ve gained strength, but I know they have. All I ask my abs to do is show themselves! Maybe they are shy…haha
  • Now I have workouts to add to my archive! Most importantly I have good strength training workouts to add.
  • Allowed me to try out a variety of workouts! We had some high intensity circuits (my favorite) and supersets for example.
  • Gave me something to blog about and a reason to blog!bbb selfie 2
  • I can’t think of anything else at the moment, but BBB helped me fall in love with fitness and health even more!

Now that BBB is I plan on going back to fit camp on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Monday, Wednesday, and maybe Friday will be cardio days. Saturday is pretty much a free day to do whatever workout I feel like! I will definitely consider signing up for BBB again in the future and highly recommend it! I’m not going to sign up for the next round (as of now) because April is insane for me! Pretty much every single night of April will be filled with Zeta activities. Sounds overwhelming, which it can be at times, but April is one of my favorite months of the year. Enough of April talk. Sign up for Best Body Fitness! I think sign ups for the next round start really soon: http://www.tinareale.com/best-body-bootcamp/
