Thinking Out Loud #1

I’m trying something new today and linking up with Running With Spoons for her Thursday Thinking Out Loud!

  • It’s Thursday and that means after this week we’ll only have two weeks left of school!! Yayyy!!!
  • Wait….we only have two weeks left?! Ahhh I have so much to get done!! That’s the bad part about knowing the semester is about to end.

  • Actually my next two weeks will be slower than the prior weeks in the semester. I’ve gotten my teaching practicum hours done and just have a few projects left, but nothing super stressful.
  • I can’t believe we did Senior Walkouts at my sorority meeting on Monday. That really means our semester is coming to a close. *Sniff* *Sniff*

  • On a brighter note my boss brought us ladies flowers at work yesterday!! He handed me some of my favorite flowers! I’m normally not a flower person, but the genuine surprise of getting flowers made me truly happy.

  • Guess who I’m in love with. JT. I reallly like his new song.

  • I decided that I looked like a hippie grandma for Easter. My dress was cute and so was the shawl thing, but while my cousins and sisters are lookin like hotties I’m looking like I belonged at Woodstock.

  • There is nothing a spoonful of peanut butter with a few chocolate chips cannot help ease. Such as the need for a snack or a temporary moment of stress relief.

  • Aww puppies always make everything better. Especially German Shepard puppies! Don’t worry I seem like I’m seeking for sources of “relief” from something, but I promise I’m just fine! These things just make the day a little brighter.

  • I’m wanting to redo my room and desk space for next semester. I didn’t realize this about myself before, but I like spaces that have a light color and natural light. After 3 years of living in the same space with the same color scheme and decorations (with a few adjustments along the way) I’m needing a mini-makeover in my room! Pinterest of course is my go to source and here are a few things I’ve found.

Anyways, I guess I should head to work! I enjoyed the unstructured randomness that is encouraged and accepting for Thinking Out Loud Thursdays, so hopefully I will do this again.  I hope everyone has a wonderful Thursday!!

Tell me a random thought you have for today!

Catching Up During Easter Weekend

So I haven’t done a blog post since last Friday and I have some catching up to do.

1. First things first, if you haven’t seen my Instagram post or are not friends with me on Facebook I have some sad news. Our family chocolate lab that I got when I was 7 passed away on Friday. Because she is 15 years old the past couple of years have been rough for her. She was basically an elderly dog and of course there comes a time where it would be best for them to be put down.

Throughout my time at college I knew that someday I would come home and Holly wouldn’t be here. Friday was that day. It’s always sad to lose a family dog. When they grow up with you they are a vital part of the family. Holly was definitely the best dog that we’ve ever had and we will miss her a lot. We have so many fond memories of Holly and no other dog will ever compare to her. I didn’t realize how sad another dog can be when their best friend is no longer there. Marley, our yellow lab, is definitely missing Holly. My words will never do Holly justice. I’m sad that she’s gone. Thankful for the memories I have of her. And I’m happy that she’s in a better place now. Anyways, now to a brighter note.

Overall my sorority did an amazing job at Greek Olympics! I’m sad it was my last, but I’m glad we got it over with!

3. This past week was stressful with school and I’m glad it’s over. A Shakespeare paper caused a lot of stress and time this past week.

I got in a two really good workouts during weight lifting class this week. I did this workout from Julie at PBFingers and I could definitely feel it afterwards!

And I got in a good leg day workout on Wednesday that left me sore!

4. I love my friends! I know y’all are probably tired of hearing how much I adore my friends, but oh well. This picture is from a night out after Greek Olympics.

5. I got breakfast fuel at Starbucks for my trip home yesterday. Iced coffee and I brought my own peanut butter for a bagel. Ridiculous I know.

I love being home and waking up in my own bed. I also love when my Mom makes pancakes for breakfast. These pancakes were nice and fluffy!

6. “But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5

Incredibly grateful to have a Savior who came and died for MY SINS  and the sins of the world. He died and rose and He will be coming back someday! Have a great Easter weekend everyone!!

Have you ever lost a family dog? What are your plans for Easter weekend?

April Goals & a declaration

Happy April 1st!! I can’t believe it’s already April. Whoa whoa whoa. Hold your horses there April.

Sadly today will be my last blog post for hopefully only two weeks. By 5 pm today I will walk into the Zeta house and my life will then be consumed with Greek Week things for the next two weeks. Maybe three.

So my declaration is that I’m going on a two week blog fast. No blog posts. Probably no blog reading unless I need to kill sometime. Trust me I am really sad about this, but my first priority is being a student and then April is pretty much dedicated to Zeta activities and finishing up classes.

Papers, presentations, and term projects. Blah.  Life comes first.

I can sum up my goals for April in one word. SURVIVE

If you want to keep up with my life the easiest ways will be on Twitter by following me @skylarstarbuck or on Instagram where you can follow me at skylar35. So please find me!

On a more positive note I had a wonderful Easter yesterday with my family and really didn’t want to come back, but summer will be here before I know it.

Anyways, I was just killing time before a chiropractor appointment. See y’all in two weeks!
