Thinking Out Loud #2

  • I”m linking up with Running With Spoons for today’s Thinking Out Loud post.
  • I’m done with all of my work with finals!!! I just have to go to class tonight and meet with my photography professor tomorrow. I feel like I’m on summer break because I don’t have any school work to be working on! It’s amazing how at that the beginning of the semester I always wonder how I’m going to get all this work done, but somehow I always get it done! It’s such a relieving feeling.

  • I had brownies for breakfast this morning. My sister had made brownies one night earlier this week. I got up early this morning to finish a paper revision and I thought coffee and a brownie would give me the encouragement I needed. It definitely did because I finished my paper, but I had to have another brownie for celebratory reasons of being done.

  • I had so much fun at my sorority’s Crown Ball last Friday! I took the best date and had a great time with my sorority sisters and their dates too! We started our evening out at a nice restaurant that is also a winery. I don’t drink wine normally, but it was nice to do it for a special occasion. It’s not like I’m a serious wine drinker because I only like moscato which basically tastes like juice!

  • Hamlet I’m so glad to be done working with you this semester. I enjoyed trying to decipher your inconsistent behavior, but in the end I’m glad I can finally put your play and the rest of this Shakespeare book on the shelf.

  • Finals week has been rough as far as eating healthy goes. A lot of my classes always have food there like pizza or sweet things like cupcakes. And at work this week it seems like there is cake or cookies every day! But honestly am I complaining about it? No I’m really not. I’m just pointing out why my health is in the decline this week. Sometimes I really do wish I didn’t like sweet stuff.

  • Doesn’t making decisions suck? I had to make a decision today that I didn’t want to make. I’m someone who is very aware and conscious of the feelings of other people. When you have to make a decision that will be negative for one party and positive for another party it’s really tough. But at the end of the day my family has to come first and though it sucks to have to make hard decisions I know I made the right one.

That’s about all I have left to say for today! Soon I’ll be off to my last class for the semester!

Do you ever have dessert for breakfast? Do you like wine?

5 On Friday: Cake & Peasants

It’s Fridayyyy!!! I’ve been waiting for this day all week because tonight is my sorority’s Crown Ball which is our final formal for the semester! It’s going to be a blast and my pledge class has been super excited about it since the beginning of the year. And now for some 5 on Friday.

1. I can’t believe it’s May. And now I only have one more week of school left! That means next week is finals which is an incredibly daunting thought. I have a lot to get done for next week.

Evidently I’m using my time wisely by blogging.

2. Since it’s the end of the semester that also means it was our last week of weight training class. I’m in love with my new Nike tank top.

After Wednesday leg day I have been incredibly sore. It’s even worse today. Walking normally has been a struggle. My hamstrings are killin’.

Thursday after I was done with work I went out to the track to get in some HIIT running. I did 15 sec sprints x 10 then just ran for 15 min and ended up 10 minutes of abs. Going to the track is a nice change up in my routine and it feels a lot better to run on.

3. Cakeeee!! I lovvveee cake!! We had our senior farewell dinner at Zeta on Wednesday and the chef ordered us a huge cake and all of our names were on the edges. We all cut out our names and my piece was quite huge. I promise I didn’t eat all of it haha More like 75% of it before the sugar coma set in.

And my breakfast for the week hasn’t strayed from oatmeal, but I changed it up today and had an English muffin with peanut butter, banana, and honey as I was going out the door.

4. With graduation and the end of the semester coming next week, sometimes it’s hard not to feel old. When you’re around a bunch of freshman and sophomore girls who still have a few more years to go, I sometimes think how much I would love to go back. But at the same time I know change is a part of life and growing older is too. Without experiences from that time I wouldn’t be where I am today. I know I shouldn’t even say the word “old” in reference to myself, but I am.

I’m going to try not to be anxious about getting older and growing up more. It doesn’t do any good anyways. I’ve always been best at just going with the flow, so that’s what I’m going to keep doing.

5. Back to a lighter note here are some things I’m loving from Pinterest lately!

Oh Prince George. What a cutie he is! My friends say the word “peasants” a lot, but when I saw this I had to laugh because he actually has the social position to use that term.

Once again I’ve been keeping my eye out for redecorating ideas and here are a few that have caught my fancy.

Well that’s all for today! I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend! I guess I should get a few more things done before we dance the night away! Or more like try to dance for me haha.

Tell me something about your week? Do you keep up with the royal family?

5 on Friday: Cake & Fro-yo

1. We got cake today at work and I’m not sad about it. I had fro-yo for dinner too on Wednesday with my sister. Lots of healthy eating going on over here lately.

Oh wait…I have been eating oatmeal for breakfast every day. Oatmeal is my jammm.

2. I’ve been sore all week from getting back in the weight room and Greek Olympic practices. I love feeling sore except when it inhibits your ability to run or jump like normal. Not good for Greek Olympic stuff. Most of you may not know what I mean by Greek Olympics and well…after it happens next week I might elaborate.

I took a picture of myself before going to practice one night. I don’t know what to say about it, but there I am being super excited. Excuse the messy bathroom clutter.

3.  I looovvveee to write. I just love how it feels. If you ever talk to me in person you’ll know I’m not the best at telling a story. I’m quite horrible actually. But after reading this post from Life of Bon: Do you love blogging?  it reminded me why I love blogging and why I’m always “writing” blog posts in my head. And why though not many people read my blog I still like to do it.She included this quote from Tim O’Brien on her blog and I had to pin it on Pinterest:

4. And words for thought.

5.  I finally watched Downton Abbey before going to bed last night. I love reading or watching anything from this time period and I truly like this show.

As far as my weekend plans I have sorority obligations tonight and then tomorrow we’ll have some Greek Olympic practices and hopefully the rest of the day can be for relaxing!

What show are you currently in love with? Do you like being sore?
